Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • User Centered Perspective: First and foremost you are a great human-centered designer. Your designs are always grounded in some insight(s) about people and you’ve applied your skills to real world problems.
  • Passion for visual design: You have a demonstrated ability to compose visually stunning, cutting edge concepts on a wide range of projects. You evangelize best practices while pushing boundaries to explore new territory.
  • Team skills: You work best in a participatory, team-based environment. You inspire teams through collaboration as well as direction, vision, and planning of visual deliverables. You understand how digital designs fit into a broader picture of brand and product design.
  • Prototyping skills: You achieve success through deliberate trial and error. You can prototype at different levels of fidelity and speed; from quick sketches on a post-it to high fidelity interactive experiences.
  • Production skills: You should feel comfortable throughout all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into visual concepts, through design development and refinement, to creating production-ready websites.
  • Communication skills: You have strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills. You know how to craft the story of your design to make it relevant to any audience. You can communicate the intricacy of a UX design to your mom and have her get it.
  • Consulting chops: You understand the interplay between the design ideal and the practical needs of your client’s business, and can dial in just the right amount of each.
